Four Winds BMW Riders
Riding from the Three Rivers to the Four Winds...

Pittsburgh Photo 2013 Ron Janoski 86Welcome to the Four Winds BMW Riders club, founded in the early 60's by a small group of BMW enthusiasts in western PA.  The first Four Winds Rally was held in 1967.  We host the longest consecutively running BMW rally in the country, predating the existence of any national BMW club.  We're located in the Pittsburgh metro area and enjoy excellent riding here and in Ohio, West Virginia and Maryland.

The name of the Club's annual rally, is  "The Four Winds Rally." In the beginning the BMW Owners Association, Inc., a group of motorcycle enthusiasts from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area, held their first BMW Invitational Rally over the weekend of August 12-13, 1967 in Carrolton, Ohio on an 80-acre ranch and camping area in North Central Ohio. The following year a second rally was held in Ohio and in subsequent years the rally has been held at various sites in Western Pennsylvania giving our club the claim of having the longest running BMW motorcycle rally in America. It wasn't long before the name Four Winds was given to the annual rally, a well chosen name in that from the very beginning riders of these unusual and quiet German touring bikes appeared at the rally from all directions, representing many states as well as Canada.

FAQ:

Is The Rally limited to only BMW motorcycles?

Not at all. All makes are very welcome as long as they are QUIET! Please be careful and courteous when riding in the area-- let's be good guests! There are some seasonal campers and community residents who will be using other areas of the park.

Are there RV spots?

Yes, anywhere you can fit for primitive or some electric.  For full hookups, contact the park to reserve ahead.

Is there anything I should know about riding in the area?

Yes, watch for DEER and very SLOW MOVING Amish buggies

How many attend the Rally?

For the last few years, attendance has been right around 200.

Can I arrive early or extend my stay?

Yes, the park manager is normally very accommodating.  Thursday early birds are welcome, but we'll be setting up.

I just want to stop by for a couple hours to check out the bikes and vendors,
why do I have to register and pay?

Events like our Rally take a lot of money to put on. Many thousands of dollars actually.  Not to mention, respecting the hudreds of volunteer work hours.

Also there is the concern about security. We need to know that the people who are there belong there.
They will check for wristbands and anyone without one will be asked to register or leave the rally site.

What if I still have questions?

Get in touch with someone on our Contact Officers page and they will help you out.
