what are the circumstances of your problem, when does it burn oil and where is it leaking from, a little or a lot, dripping on the ground, in front of engine, middle or rear, engine oil or final drive, transmission oil. need more info.

Anyone who rides behind me stays it burns all the time and is heavy upon hard acceleration. Without dropping the belly pan - it's seems to leak when the engine is running - dripping on floor stops after engine has cooled. It hasn't not been rode for 2 weeks and is not dripping. It is always kept on the center stand in the garage.

Sorry, i was hoping your problem was a typical one or two. Doesnt seem so. Does sound more serious than my knowledge would allow an opinion. broken rings, scored cylinder, oil pump seal for leak, or rear main if coming out intermediate housing,(clutch housing).Nothing re assuring in your explaination. sorry

I'm guessing that my next step would be to get a compression test of the engine - any ideas on a decent compression tester to buy? I know there is a lot of junk out there.
Thanks
